For my mom
It came to this, who knew an error in judgement could conclude in away that led to such pain. Reactions from fatal attraction. Believing in a tale of romance, despite the warning signs. She just loved love, she wanted to get it right this time. Her life. Her story.
What was portrayed was almost more important to her than the truth. The truth of feeling failure , the truth of disappointment, resentment and desperation. Oh mother, you didn’t have to fight to get it right. You had to close the chapter on what was causing you such pain.
But isn’t that the beauty of pain as well? A chapter. Only a small section in your book. An important part, but not the conclusion or the ending to your victory. This chapter ending is where the turning point begins.
And even if the turning point happens half way through the book, the other half of the story could consist of self-determination, strength, understanding, growth and resilience , love, kindness, respect and control.
The past are chapters, that you have permission to close.
So close them.
Forgive them.
And start this part fresh.

💛
