Free Thought in a Divided World

One thing to understand is that most political regimes aim to divide and conquer. It’s simpler that way. That’s why media and journalism are often biased. It’s easier to target one side rather than multiple groups of free thinkers who prefer to weigh stories, truths, and odds instead of feeding off sensationalist news. Free thinkers have always been forced into boxes by those who dislike independent thought.

In the past, free thinkers were labelled as communists, then liberals, and now conspiracy theorists. I was quite amused the other day when a distant cousin called me a nationalist Dutchman because I questioned the COVID vaccine. After laughing and admiring his creativity, I realised even more how afraid people are of individual thinkers. If your opinion differs from theirs, you become the enemy. They don’t seem to realise that many of their beliefs might align with yours, but you’re not allowed to step out of the box. The political agenda that caught their attention tells them not to trust outsiders.

Here's the thing, though: we are all outsiders, especially to our government’s agenda. We forget that most rulers are driven by greed. We also don’t realise the pressure that comes with being the face of a country. The only way to manage any civilisation is to control it, and it’s not easy to control people unless you manipulate them.

You are not living in a democracy if your government is involved in the assassination of its opponent when he's leading in the ballots. You can say it had nothing to do with the DNC, while you shoot up the next big drug on the market endorsed by the government.

I cannot believe all the posts I am seeing on social media where a political assassination attempt is celebrated. Violence is commended, riots are encouraged, child gender mutilation surgeries are revered, vaccines become mandatory, and feminism has lost its power. Is this what some people call a revolution?

Do people even know why they hate Trump? Is it his foreign policies? His clamping down on child trafficking? His peace treaty in the Middle East? His warnings about China, which has already crippled businesses across the globe because of companies like Shein and Temu? Or is it because he committed "fraud" during his campaign?

Yet back at the ranch, Hunter Biden's influence peddling, accusations of child trafficking found on his laptop, and dealings with China remain largely overlooked and downplayed. Meanwhile, Epstein's list of associates has yet to be disclosed, despite his suspicious suicide in a highly secure prison cell.

Do you see the contradiction.

We sit here in South Africa gloating over America’s misery, while billions are taken from taxpayers' earnings every day. Townships are drowning after rainfall because our government hasn’t used our money to create safe infrastructure. Dictators in Korea and Russia devise evil plans, and hundreds of thousands of people in the Middle East are being killed. But we clap when a presidential candidate gets shot, as if Trump has enough power to be the cause of all this?

I try not to share my political opinions because free speech does not exist. Most of us conform to the new woke political agendas because we have to. I have received hateful messages from distant family members because I question sensationalist news. I have friends who have deleted their social media accounts due to threatening messages from people who call themselves liberals.

I was proudly a liberal thinker. I stood up for gay rights and being pro-choice. I understood black empowerment and took a stand against police brutality, not because of George Floyd, but because of what happened in our own country during apartheid, the Soweto uprising, and Marikana. Because of slavery.

Now I am called a bigot because I do not condone political violence, the sexual grooming of young children, or being a guinea pig for new vaccines. I don’t believe a biological male should participate in female sports.

So I am put in a box with Trump, a man I do not particularly like or believe is any better than Obama. I got called a MAGA Nazi. I resent that, especially since I am marrying a Jew.

We are all human, with a right to live safely in an honest world. Most importantly, we have a responsibility to protect our children, instil fair and healthy morals, be kind, be cautious, be self-aware, and not be manipulated by media trends.
